Our Mission & Vision

Our mission at First Baptist Church is, “At our core, we believe we must be engaged in healthy relationships with God, family, friends, community, and beyond.” (Matt. 22: 36-40)  We are excited that you have chosen to view our website and hope that these pages encourage you to join us for worship and Bible study this Sunday.

Leadership Team:

Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

ROGERS-TAD-136

Tad Rogers

Senior Pastor

Responsibilities

Tad has served as lead pastor of First Baptist Church, Mountain Home, since December of 2012.  Tad came to Mountain Home from First Baptist Church, Trumann, Ar. where he served as pastor for 16 years.  From 1992 to 1996 he served as pastor of Bradley Baptist Church in Bradley, Ar.  Tad’s main responsibility is to lead First Baptist Church in realizing our vision of healthy relationships.  Based on Matt. 22: 36-40 the congregation’s mission statement says, “Healthy Relationships are the essence of our congregation’s mission and vision statement:  ‘At our core we believe we must be engaged in healthy relationships with God, family, friends and our community.’”  Tad seeks to keep God’s vision before us through prayer, preaching, teaching, leading community groups and engaging with people through pastoral care and evangelism.  His desire is for First Baptist Church to be a congregation that worships Jesus, connects with God and others, and impacts the community for Christ.

Family

Tad is married to Sherry, a kindergarten teacher at Mountain Home School District.  They have two children, Abby (15) and Trey (18).  Abby is a student at Mountain Home High School and Trey attends Arkansas State University in Jonesboro.

Hobbies

Tad enjoys reading, (although the words become smaller each year) and hanging out with his family and friends.  He grew up duck hunting in northeast Arkansas but now days spends more time in the hills pursuing deer and the elusive gobbler.  His calling tends to keep the turkeys pretty safe.  He can also be found trout fishing on the White River and boating on Lake Norfork when hunting seasons are closed.

M.Div. The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Ky., 1991

Kevin Moore

Sr. Adult Pastor

KEVIN MOORE alias “Rev Kev” serves as our Pastor to Senior Adults.  He originally hails from metropolitan Pleasant Valley, Missouri and has been serving churches since 1971, He holds a MDiv., which             really looks official, from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with additional studies from Southern Seminary.

Fortunately he was able to convince a great looking blue-eyed fox by the name of Nicole who owned a killer stereo system at the time, to marry him in December 1979, he needed the tax break!  The           resulting dynamic duo is responsible for the production of three offspring, Lauren, Karter, and Parker.  In turn, two of three, Lauren and Karter, have been successful in concealing their true bloodline and have married two wonderful spouses, Jon and Christal.  However, word may have gotten out and Parker as of yet is single

However, the crowning achievement thus far are two beautiful granddaughters, Sadie and Tabatha, far exceeding their parents in every regard, oh the trials we must endure to get to the good stuff.

At First, Kevin is responsible for all things related to senior adult ministry, chief encourager to all he encounters head guardian and keeper of the office coffee pot, and sidekick to LaVella              McWilliams, our church receptionist.

The White River, state parks, and area lakes currently serve as satellite office areas when needed.
